Our Pastoral Team is committed to removing barriers to learning and ensuring that every student is:
Here. Happy. Healthy. Ready to learn.
Every student has a Form Tutor and Head of Year who provide guidance, encouragement and support throughout their time at school.
Alongside this, our dedicated Pastoral Team is available to provide additional support when it is needed. We recognise that every student is different, and our team works closely with students, families and other professionals to understand individual needs and help overcome any challenges that may affect a student's wellbeing, attendance or learning.
We believe that the best outcomes are achieved when school and home work together, and we encourage parents and carers to contact us whenever they have a concern or feel their child may need some additional support.

We want every student to feel safe, supported and able to ask for help when they need it. A range of support is available throughout school, whether a student has a concern about themselves, a friend or another member of our school community.
Every student has direct access to our Student Helpline from their school desktop. If they are worried about something affecting themselves or someone else, they can use the helpline to raise their concern.
The Pastoral Team will be notified and can follow up sensitively, ensuring that the appropriate support is put in place.
Our Heads of Year (HOYs) play an important role in supporting students throughout their time at school. They monitor the wellbeing and progress of their year groups and are available to help with a wide range of concerns, including behaviour, friendships, bullying and emotional wellbeing.
They work closely with students, families and other members of staff to ensure that concerns are identified and addressed appropriately.
ClassCharts helps parents and carers stay informed about their child's day-to-day experience in school.
Teachers use ClassCharts to record positive achievement points, as well as negative behaviour points and detentions. Parents and carers can download the ClassCharts app or access the parent portal to keep up to date with this information.
Vicki Rash and Gene, our fully licensed therapy dog, provide additional support for targeted students within school.
Working with a therapy dog can provide a calm and reassuring environment for students who may benefit from this type of support. Sessions are provided to identified students and only take place with prior parental agreement.
Students do not need to wait until a problem becomes serious before asking for help. Whether it is through the Student Helpline, their Head of Year, another trusted member of staff or our wider pastoral support, we encourage students to speak up whenever something is worrying them.
